Probate Lawyers

When most people think of “probate,” what comes to mind is heirs fighting over the property of the deceased. And that has certainly been the case in our experience with litigation involving estates in Forsyth, Dawson, Gwinnett, Cherokee, and Lumpkin Counties.
Probate law covers any legal disputes concerning aging, disability, and death and normally involves the handling or distribution of trusts, estates, wills, and bank accounts.
Normally heirs can contact the Probate Court directly in the case of the death of a relative which requires the appointment of the executor. An attorney advises that executor as to his or her responsibility. But when heirs file an objection to the will or administration of the estate, an experienced probate attorney is normally called in.
We at McFarland & McFarland are experienced probate lawyers who can provide sound legal advice and guidance during litigation. Don’t go it alone during this stressful, confusing time.
